11 killed, 25 injured as storm triggers deadly accidents in Punjab

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) stated on Friday that 11 persons, according to the reports, died and 35 were injured in different accidents due to heavy rain in the province of Punjab.

As per PDMA, according to the PDMA report, during the period of June 25 to 27, the PDMA has reported accidents involving the storm all over Punjab. The major deaths were as a result of collapsing walls and roofs.

In Lahore, there were eight cases reported, in which the falling roof led to deaths of three individuals. Similar cases caused death of one child and injured two in Okara.

In Mandi Bahauddin, three children were found dead because of electrocution and seven other people injured after a roof collapsed. Two individuals drowned in one seasonal stream in Jhang.

Two persons, a man and a woman were killed in Sahiwal when the roof of their house collapsed. A child has been killed in such a similar case of Kasur. A roof collapsed in Bahawalpur killing another child.

In Rahim Yar Khan livestock was killed, and one became wounded when a tree fell. Two men, five women and one child were injured after a roof collapsed in Multan. Two persons have drowned in a stream in Jhelum.

A Khanewal man passed on after being hit by lightning. Four persons were hurt in Chiniot as a roof collapsed.

PDMA has encouraged the general audience not to travel in poor weather conditions.
