During an intelligence-based operation in South Waziristan Sra Rogha area, security forces killed 11 foreign militants reportedly operating under Indian sponsorship and injured seven others, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to ISPR the operation involved intense exchange of fire, during which Major Moeez Abbas Shah and Lance Naik Jibraan Ullah embraced martyrdom, on Tuesday. Major Shah was leading the operation.
ISPR stated that the militants’ hideout was effectively targeted based on precise intelligence. The foreign elements involved were part of terrorist activities allegedly backed by India.
Major Syed Moeez Abbas Shah, aged 37 and a resident of Chakwal, was known for his courageous leadership in several counter-terror operations.
Lance Naik Jibraan Ullah, aged 27, hailed from Bannu District.
Security forces have launched a follow-up search and clearance operation in the area. ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eliminate terrorism supported by external actors, particularly those backed by India.
“The sacrifices of our brave sons strengthen our resolve to root out terrorism from our homeland,” the statement added.
