A 30-day drone ban has been enforced in Swat amid security concerns and regional rivalry fears, says District Magistrate Shahzad Mehboob.
The prohibition was put in place as a preventative precaution to preserve public order and safeguard delicate installations in the area, and it takes effect immediately.
“The use of drones has been declared a serious security concern due to the prevailing regional enmity and potential threats to public safety,” the district magistrate said in a statement on Monday.
Unauthorized drone activity will be considered a major offense, according to the official order, and violators will face severe consequences under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which addresses disobedience to a properly issued public servant’s order.
“Our first goal is to protect important infrastructure and the general public. He declared that using drones illegally would no longer be accepted and would now be regarded as a serious offense.
