At least six people, including women and children, lost their lives while 18 others were injured in a tragic road accident near Langar Sarai, Kot Addu. The incident occurred when a high-speed passenger bus collided with a trailer, resulting in a devastating crash.

According to rescue officials, the bus was en route from Alipur to Lahore when it slammed into a trailer parked or moving along the roadside. The impact caused extensive damage to the bus, especially its front section, where most of the fatalities were reported.

Among the deceased were the bus driver, two women, and two children, all of whom died on the spot due to the severity of their injuries. The identity of the sixth victim is being confirmed by authorities.

Emergency teams from Rescue 1122 and local police arrived swiftly at the scene and carried out rescue operations.

The injured were given first aid and transported to nearby hospitals. Ten of the injured, in critical condition, were shifted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan, while eight others and the bodies of the deceased were moved to Muzaffargarh Hospital.

Police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the collision, with initial reports suggesting speeding and possible driver negligence as contributing factors.

The tragic incident has once again highlighted the growing concerns around road safety and enforcement of traffic laws, especially involving long-distance passenger transport.

Authorities have urged bus operators to ensure strict adherence to traffic regulations and safety protocols to prevent such deadly mishaps in the future.
