Jummah tul wida or Alvida Jumma, the last Friday of Ramadan, holds significant importance for Muslims as they bid farewell to the holiest month of Islam, Ramadan 2024.
This day, observed with deep religious devotion, sees Muslims gathering at mosques across Pakistan for special sermons and prayers, seeking blessings from Allah Almighty.
Jumma tul wida is marked by various rituals, including waking up early, taking a bath, and dressing in new clothes. People congregate in mosques to offer prayers in large numbers, recite the Holy Quran, and engage in acts of charity.
In this year’s observance, a considerable number of individuals are expected to attend Friday prayers at mosques nationwide, offering special prayers for prosperity and the unity of Muslims. Religious scholars will stress the significance of the fasting month and Jumma tul wida.
The largest congregation for Jumma tul wida in Islamabad is anticipated to take place at Faisal Mosque.
JI rallies
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami organised rallies in different cities in solidarity with the people of Palestine. JI leaders addressed and led the rallies and people from different walks of life participated. They chanted slogans in favour of Palestinians.
JI acting Emir Liaqat Baloch led the solidarity rally in Islamabad and while addressing the gathering he demanded the rulers of Muslim world to take practical steps for the help of people of Gaza.
JI Secretary General Amir ul Azeem addressed the solidarity march in front of JI headquarters Mansoorah Lahore. The participants holding banners and placard inscribed with the slogans in favour of Gazans demanded the seize fire in Gaza. They were also carrying the Palestinian flags.
JI spokesperson said the rallies on day of Al Quds were held on the appeal of the JI Emir Sirajul Haq. He said rallies held in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Hyderabad, Faisalabad and other cities to express solidarity with the Palestinians.
