The two-hour-long meeting between Pakistan Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the U.S president, Donald Trump, at the white house can now be unraveled as the inside story has emerged.
President Trump facilitated a luncheon in the honor of Field Marshal Asim Munir whom he termed as an honor to himself. As Donald Trump vowed, he stated that it was of pride to him to meet Asim Muneer.
He also appreciated the Field Marshal in averting a crisis with India. In addition, the U.S. President stated that trade talks between the U.S, and Pakistan and India are underway.
Trump also discussed the Iran and Israel conflict during this meeting, official reports revealed.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also met with the U.S Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth, during his visit to the U.S.
It is even more interesting to note that this is the first time in the history of the United States that a sitting President has held an official meeting with the army chief of another country. President Donald Trump’s hosting of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the White House is a sign of this unprecedented development.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif termed the meeting of the Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir with the U.S. President as a historical step.
In his remarks, he stated that the luncheon the U.S. President gave the Pakistani Army Chief is a remarkable gift meaning that there is positive change in bilateral relations.
He also mentioned that Pakistan has an opportunity to make constructive and effective contribution towards Israel-Iran crisis bringing long lasting peace in the region.
