Pakistani anchorperson Iqrar-ul-Hassan was in the firing line on social media after celebrating 13th wedding anniversary with his second wife, Farah Iqrar.
Iqrar, who hosts the programme Sar-e-Aam, first married news anchor Qurat-ul-Ain in 2006 and has a son named Pehlaaj Hassan. In 2012, he married media personality Farah Iqrar, and took five years to keep the marriage a secret.
Subsequently, Iqrar admitted his second marriage in public, declaring that it was with the approval of his first wife. Already in the limelight following his polygamy, speculation on his third marriage started in October 2023. In March 2024, Iqrar confirmed his third marriage to anchorperson Aroosa Khan.
The public has criticized him for failing to provide a clear reason for his subsequent marriages, especially since his wives are not older, less attractive, or divorced women he married for financial support.
Farah Iqrar, another popular digital content creator and social media influencer, recently posted on Instagram a photo and a brief video from the 13th wedding anniversary celebration of she and Iqrar-ul-Hassan. The reel captured a modest outing and a small party. In her caption, Farah said, “Masha Allah, we have completed 13 years together.”
Public criticism
The public strongly disapproved of and criticized the marriage, despite Farah Iqrar sharing her happiness in the post.
One user commented, it’s not good to comment on someone’s personal life, but “I want to tell you that the life you are living is not right, you deserve a better husband than Iqrar”.
Another sarcastically remarked, this is just a laugh with everyone, don’t be happy, madam, just prepare for the fourth.
A sarcastic comment also read, I don’t understand why people are congratulating a man on his wedding, who keeps bothering his wives one after the other.”
Yet another user questioned, only permission to marry was given by the first wife, not to have children, what is the brother’s confession?
