Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has endorsed U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign by donating $50 million to support Harris’ election campaign.
Bill Gates has donated this amount to a non-profit organization which supports Harris.
Gates has stayed away from politics from decades. But this time the world’s wealthiest individual, has reportedly made a significant financial contribution to support Harris’ campaign.
According to American media Gates has not publicly expressed his support for Harris and intended to remain this confidential.
“Gates’ donation will not appear in public campaign finance disclosures. He will channeled this donation through dark money group that does not reveal its donors”, reports say.
Gates ideas are not aligned with the political strategies of former President Donald Trump.
Gates and Malinda foundation works for giving better health opportunities and to eliminate poverty. He has concerns that Trump is least interested in these areas.
Bill Gates stated that the 2024 election holds particular importance. “I back candidates who are committed to improving healthcare, reducing poverty, and tackling climate change,” Gates mentioned.
The donation is of great importance as cryptocurrency continues to gain prominence. Businesses are facing issues related to digital currencies. Harris and other candidates are addressing economic policies to ensure crypto regulations.
Gates has voiced caution over cryptocurrencies. He appreciated Harris efforts to benefit underbanked communities—an area aligned with his philanthropic interests.
