Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has eliminated Birth and death registration across the Punjab province.
The 2025 Birth and Death Registration Regulations are now in force. All throughout Punjab, birth and death registration will now be done at no cost.
Additionally, late registrations no longer require a court order.
Free computerized birth and death certificates will also be provided per the chief minister’s directive.
For a maximum of seven years, citizens can register births and deaths at Union Councils and Municipal Committees for free.
According to CM Maryam, every citizen has the fundamental right to identification. The government wants to facilitate access to services, she continued.
In order to receive services, a digital birth or death certificate is now required. Citizens will be better able to defend their rights if they register on time.
