A minor-boy and four other workers succumbed to their injuries four days after the incident of a boiler explosion in a textile factory near Faisalabad.
Hospital sources confirmed the death of five workers among the total 12 who suffered burns during the explosion on Sunday. The factory located at Sargodha road near motorways.
Rescue teams later had shifted the injured to the Allied Hospital Faisalabad where their treatment was under process in the burn unit.
Reports say the age of a worker who died on Wednesday night is 12 and his father who is 40 years old also lost life. They were the residents of Bahawalnagar, said the reports.
The other workers who died were Zunair, 26, a resident of Samundri, Waseem and Mustansar aged 18 and 24 respectively and the residents of tehsil Arifwala.
Rescue team said total 12 workers suffered burns in the steam boiler explosion, resulting breaking out of fire and collapsing of roof of the factory.
Trade union leaders expressed grief and sorrow over the incident and called for the fair investigation into the incident.
All Pakistan Trade Union Federation leader Aima Mahmood also questioned the factory owner for taking labour from the underage. She said the act of the employer was a clear violation of labour laws. She said the employer and the government should compensate the families of the deceased and injured. She also called for the implementation of labour laws in Pakistan.
