A bomb blast occurred at the house of Prime Minister’s Advisor on Merger of Districts and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Mubarak Zeb Khan in Shah Naray Tehsil Khar, Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The explosion damaged the main gate of the legislator’s residence. There were no injuries as MNA Mubarak Zeb was not at home when the blast took place.
Unknown attackers, according to Bajaur police, had left explosives close to the gate of Zeb’s house, triggering a big blast that destroyed a large portion of the gate.
Mubarak Zeb, in his post-attack statement, gave thanks for his family’s safety and reaffirmed his determination on his mission.
My house gate has been blown up with a bomb,” he said, further adding, “Nobody was hurt. Nobody can demoralize me with such cowardly acts. Insha Allah, I will carry the vision of my martyred brother forward.”
Security agencies have begun investigating the attack, but no organization has claimed responsibility for the bombing yet.
The local authorities are stepping up security in the area in order to avoid future attacks and protect public officials from harm.
