Budget 2025-26: The federal government has proposed development budget for 2025-26 stands at Rs1,000 billion, with infrastructure, energy, and water resource projects taking center stage, according to the sources.
At the June 2 Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) meeting, the proposal will be presented for approval.
Major allocations in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) include Rs140 billion for water-related projects and Rs170 billion for road infrastructure.

With a predicted allocation of just Rs50 billion, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) may see a reduction in financing due to budgetary restrictions.
While the power division is anticipated to receive Rs105 billion.
Compared to the budget from the previous year, this represents a potential decrease of Rs11 billion.
According to sources, just Rs9 billion will be spent on road development projects; even lesser sums have been allotted to other departments.
These consist of Rs1.5 billion for interprovincial connections, Rs3.5 billion for maritime affairs, and Rs4 billion for national food security.
The ministries of industry and production and information may also receive Rs 3 billion apiece.
