Cambridge confirms limited leaks in A-Level exams

Cambridge University Press & Assessment has confirmed that a small number of questions from three AS & A Level exam papers were leaked just before the scheduled exams in the June 2025 series.

Following an in-depth investigation by Cambridge’s Exam Security Team, confirmed leaks were found in three specific cases: one question in AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 12, parts of two questions in Mathematics Paper 42, and parts of one question in Computer Science Paper 22. Importantly, Cambridge found no evidence that any full exam paper had been shared in advance.

To ensure fairness, Cambridge announced that all students would be awarded full marks for the leaked questions. The organization acknowledged this may lead to slightly higher marks for some students but assured that the results would be adjusted accordingly during grading. Cambridge expressed confidence in this solution and confirmed that no exams would be rescheduled, and result issuance would proceed on time.

The organization also addressed the widespread circulation of alleged leaked papers online, stating that many of these were either fake or part of scams aimed at misleading students, including instances where individuals were asked to pay for fraudulent content. Cambridge strongly condemned these scams and expressed sympathy for the anxiety and distress experienced by affected students.

Cambridge confirmed it had identified the sources of the leaks in all three cases and is taking appropriate action against those involved. The findings and steps taken have been shared with Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) and other relevant authorities.

Last month, the issue of leaked Cambridge exam papers was brought before Pakistan’s National Assembly Standing Committee on Education. A subcommittee was formed, chaired by MNA Sabin, to assess Cambridge’s performance and address the exam leak concerns. During a meeting chaired by Committee Chairman Dr. Azimuddin Zahid, MNA Muhammad Ali Sarfraz presented evidence of four leaked papers and showed related video footage to the attendees.
