The Crazy Cats, the biggest cat sanctuary in Pakistan, has rescued a guy who had been lying half-naked beside Mayo Hospital in Lahore for the past 15 days due to a maggot infestation.
According to a video that The Crazy Cats uploaded to its Instagram page on Wednesday, the man claimed to be from Garhi Shahu in Lahore.
The man is seen in the video in a vulnerable state, with his left foot seeming injured and maggot-infested. Flies were flying around him while he lay on the road.
Following contact, the Emergency Department and Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) dispatched their staff to move the sick guy into a ward where a number of tests, including an electrocardiogram (ECG) and X-rays, were conducted, according to the caption, which was written by The Crazy Cats.
The man has been released from the hospital after the maggots in his foot were removed.
The Crazy Cats added that the case has also been reported to the police.
The Crazy Cats is a project that has been saving cats for the past six years, according to their website. It is situated in Lahore’s SA Gardens.
