China has called for the implementation of the UN resolution on Palestine, urging for an immediate realization of an unconditional and enduring ceasefire between Israel and Gaza.
The Foreign Affairs Minister of China Wang Yi expressed this in a joint press talk with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar after the fifth round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Beijing. About the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, China expressed its firm and consistent position calling for the full implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2728, an immediate unconditional and durable ceasefire, and protection of civilians.
Both the countries agreed to oppose power politics, attempts to create bloc rivalry and camp-based confrontation, and jointly safeguard peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.
Both the foreign ministers affirmed a commitment to uphold international fairness and justice. The two sides will continue to strengthen coordination and cooperation in the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and other multilateral mechanisms to safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
The regional power -China – acknowledged Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the one-China principle and its solid support over Taiwan and issues relating to Xinjiang, Xizang, and Hong Kong. China reiterated to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. It affirmed pursuing a developmental path suited to Pakistan’s national conditions. China also recognized Pakistan’s resolve to combat terrorism and its role in regional and international affairs. Both sides agreed on consultations and cooperation in the political and security fields. understand and support each other on issues related to each other’s core interests and major concerns.
Pakistani reiterated the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and major proposals such as the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President of China Mr. Xi Jinping. China and Pakistan agreed to strengthen developmental strategies, and coordination and upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
China expressed commitment to supporting Pakistan in achieving economic growth, improving people’s livelihood, promoting scientific innovation, and green development. Both sides will actively promote third-party participation in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor cooperation. Cooperation will also be made in industry, agriculture, mining, energy, information technology, and other fields based on local conditions to help Pakistan achieve independent and sustainable development, said the Chinese minister.
Mr. Wang Yi noted that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister made China the first country to visit in his new official capacity. He said that he and Ishaq Dar had a comprehensive discussion on China-Pakistan relations and cooperation in various fields. They both discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest, he said adding that China and Pakistan are all the time strategic partners.
The Deputy Prime Minister briefed China on the investigation results of the terrorist attack on a convoy of Chinese nationals on March 26 and again expressed condolences to the Chinese victims. Pakistan pledged to do its utmost to bring the perpetrators of the attack to justice and ensure the safety of Chinese nationals, projects, and institutions in Pakistan. it was agreed that both China and Pakistan will further deepen counter-terrorism and security cooperation, and call on the international community to build a united front against terrorism and adopt a zero-tolerance approach in combating all forms of terrorism. It was said that both sides would jointly work on what was reached by these government dignitaries, and accelerate the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
The newly designated Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was on a three-day official visit to China from May 13 to 16. During this visit, he met with Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang in Beijing on Wednesday. He met with the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO,) Ambassador Zhang Ming, and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the organization’s charter and its ideals. He expressed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing SCO’s security and development cooperation agenda.
During this visit, he met with Shoguang Mayor Zhao Tianbao in the Chinese capital and invited Chinese firms to invest in diverse Pakistani sectors. This visit is also a continuing effort of Pakistan to seek foreign investments. Besides he held meetings with Chinese leaders, senior government officials, and business enterprises. Upon his arrival in China, he was received by Director General, Ambassador Wang Fu Kang, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi. He co-chaired the Fifth Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue.
