The driving license would be issued to the students of colleges and universities across Punjab.
The relevant traffic authorities made the decision.
The spokesperson for the Traffic Headquarters Punjab said that the additional IG Traffic made the decision to provide licenses to students.
He said that a circular has been issued to all CTOs and DTOs regarding this.
“The licenses will be issued not only to university and college students but also to the administration,” said the spokesperson.
He mentioned that a large number of students are driving motorcycles and cars without licenses, which leads to accidents. A special campaign for issuing driving licenses has been launched across Punjab for students and faculty.
The Higher Education Commission of Punjab issued instructions to educational institutions regarding the campaign.
The focal persons will be designated by universities across the province. University and college administrations will transport students to testing centers, where all facilities related to driving licenses will be provided to them.
Under the said plan, CTOs and District Traffic Officers will meet with the heads of all educational institutions immediately.
