Billionaire Elon Musk appeared at the White House sporting a black eye, and when people questioned what had happened, his reply surprised many. He explained that his five-year-old son punched him in the face.
Musk said he was fooling around with his son, X, and jokingly instructed him to punch him. The child took him seriously—and gave him a bruise.
And now everyone’s asking: is Musk having a joke, or did a little boy land a punch hard enough to leave a bruise?
“I was horsing around with lil’ X and I told him, ‘Go ahead, punch me in the face,'” said 53-year-old Musk when asked how he acquired the shiner.
“And he did. It turns out even a five-year-old punching you in the face actually is.” he continued, before drifting off.
“I didn’t feel it much at the time, but I suppose it bruises up.”
Trump welcomed Musk to the press conference as a way of celebrating the Tesla boss’s final day at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk had shown growing disillusionment with the role but promised to remain a “friend and advisor.”
The New York Times claimed that Musk used large quantities of drugs while campaigning on Trump’s behalf in 2024, overshadowing his appearance.
Trump denied that he noticed the purple bruise beside Musk’s right eye, but quipped: “X could do it, if you knew X.”
During the SpaceX billionaire’s first Oval Office appearance last February, X rode on Musk’s shoulders and picked his nose beside Trump’s Resolute Desk.
