Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has extended unequivocal backing to Pakistan amid rising regional tensions.
Speaking to the Turkish Cabinet, President Erdogan conveyed his happiness with the truce between India and Pakistan.
“Turkey has consistently maintained a clear stance on the missile strikes on Pakistan and the brutal terrorist attacks in Kashmir,” he said.
“Turkey has worked tirelessly to help de-escalate the extremely dangerous tensions between the two countries,” President Erdogan emphasized.
He disclosed that he had a phone conversation with his brother, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which significant issues were discussed.
“I once again congratulate our Pakistani brothers on their patience, resilience, and wise approach,” he said.
Erdogan advised all parties to avoid provocation, stressing the importance of restraint.
He expressed hope that the ceasefire would pave the way for resolving all outstanding issues, particularly those related to water.
Erdogan he reaffirmed Türkiye’s steadfast commitment: “God willing, Türkiye will continue to stand with the brotherly Pakistani nation in both good and difficult times.”
