Fast Cables, in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), launched the Mega Plantation Drive 2025 near Lahore’s Ravi Bridge, planting over 2,000 trees as part of a joint effort to promote environmental sustainability and combat climate change.
The plantation event was attended by key figures from all participating organizations. Representing Alkhidmat Foundation were Vice President Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Mangat and National Fundraising Head Mr. Murtaza Hussain, along with volunteers and staff members. From Fast Cables, CEO Mian Kamal led the company’s delegation, joined by team members in a symbolic gesture of corporate environmental responsibility. Officials from PHA also participated in the drive.
Speaking at the occasion, Fast Cables CEO Mian Kamal emphasized the importance of private sector involvement in environmental initiatives:
“As a responsible corporate citizen, Fast Cables is committed to fighting climate change and environmental degradation. Planting trees is an investment in cleaner air, lower carbon emissions, and a healthier future for Lahore.”
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Mangat echoed the sentiment, underlining the urgent need for environmental action:
“Tree plantation is both an environmental necessity and a moral responsibility. With Lahore’s air quality continuing to deteriorate, green initiatives like this are vital for public health and the wellbeing of future generations.”
The event featured a recitation from the Holy Quran, a donor address, plaque unveiling, souvenir distribution, and a formal plantation ceremony led by senior representatives and volunteers.
The initiative reflects a growing commitment among organizations to play an active role in restoring the environment and building a greener Pakistan.
