Veteran actress Faysal Quraishi called out the criticism made by Nadia Afgan about his character in the drama serial ‘Behroopia’.

Faysal Quraishi is one of Pakistan’s most accomplished actors known for his versatility and impactful performances. He has given many iconic performances for Pakistani screens. With his stunning personality and unmatched acting skills Qureshi enjoyed a notable fan following not only in Pakistan but across the borders.

Recently Faysal come under criticism from fellow actress Nadia Afgan for his role in the drama Behroopia.

Quraishi, who plays a man with Multiple Personality Disorder in the series, has received significant praise from fans for his challenging portrayal. However, not everyone is impressed.

During an appearance on the show Kya Drama Hai, Nadia Afgan commented on Quraishi’s English in the drama, specifically criticizing his repeated use of the phrase “Gottcha,” questioning the appropriateness of the expression.

In response, Faysal Quraishi addressed the critique alongside Behroopia director Shaquielle Khan. Quraishi explained that the character he plays, Kabir, is influenced by a foreign friend and mimics certain speech patterns accordingly. He emphasized that “Gottcha” reflects a particular demographic’s slang in the U.S., and it was a deliberate choice to suit Kabir’s background and personality.

Director Shaquielle Khan backed this explanation, stating that Kabir’s way of speaking is intentional and rooted in the character’s development. He added that while no work is perfect, any necessary corrections will be made, but in this case, the dialogue was fitting.

The online audience largely sided with Quraishi, calling the criticism unwarranted. Social media users commented that some critics fail to understand the depth of character development and simply look for faults. Others suggested that such negative remarks often stem from jealousy or lack of relevance in the industry.
