Actress and host Fiza Ali sparked controversy after making a sarcastic comment about singer Jawad Ahmed during a recent TV show.
While discussing celebrities and their alleged political leanings, Fiza took a jab at several public figures — including Jawad Ahmed — who was also present on the show.
Referring to him humorously, she remarked, “If Jawad Ahmed weren’t a singer, he would’ve been a dhobi (washerman), because he’s always washing others with his words.”
The comment didn’t sit well with Jawad Ahmed, who responded in his signature composed style. He recalled Fiza’s earlier admiration for his music:
“When she first met me, she told me she was my biggest fan and used to dance joyfully to my songs.”
He went on to mention that Fiza acted in the drama Mehndi, which gained popularity largely due to his song.
“She was one of the four lead actresses in Mehndi, and the drama became a hit because of my song. She became a star partly because of it. She can’t repay that favor, and her comment only reflects ignorance.”
Fiza’s remarks have ignited a buzz on social media, with users split in their opinions. While some praised her boldness and candid style, others came to Jawad Ahmed’s defense, highlighting his contributions to music, political activism, and social awareness in Pakistan.
The exchange has added a fresh layer to the ongoing debate around celebrity behavior, public respect, and personal boundaries in the entertainment industry.
