In a heartbreaking incident in the mountainous Ardengji region of Khuzdar, unidentified gunmen attacked the family of former Chief Minister Naseer Mengal, resulting in the death of his son, Atta-ur-Rehman Mengal, and injuries to his young grandson.
According to district officials, the ambush was carried out by over 30 armed individuals while the victims were on a hunting trip. The Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar confirmed that Levies personnel and rescue units were promptly deployed to the remote location to secure the area and deliver medical aid.
The injured child was airlifted to Khuzdar Civil Hospital, where he is currently under treatment. So far, no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, local law enforcement has launched an investigation and stepped up security patrols across the rugged terrain to track down those involved in Naseer Mengal family attack.
