According to statement released by Inter Services Public Relations on Friday, Security forces have eliminated four terrorists linked to “Fitna al-Khawarij” during an intelligence-based operation in Swat district.

ISPR reported that credible intelligence had suggested terrorists were present in the area from which the terrorists were eliminated, and arms and explosives were recovered.

The ISPR added that the killed terrorists were involved in several acts of sabotage in the region.

An active clearance and sanitization operation to root out the remaining threats is in progress.

The military reiterated its resolve for a zero tolerance against terrorism and uphold peace in the country.

This operation follows another successful one conducted by the security forces in Dera Ismail Khan District, where four terrorists were killed on April 16.

Sepoy Basit Siddique (age 23, resident of Attock District) embraced martyrdom during an intense firefight.

ISPR commended his courage, adding that he “rendered the ultimate sacrifice by embracing shahadat (martyrdom)”.

Weapons and munitions were recovered from the site, while the security forces are determined to enforce peace and stability in the region.
