In a powerful address at the Overseas Pakistanis Convention on Monday, General Munir stated that Pakistan’s enemies are mistaken if they think terrorists can control the country’s fate.

Pakistani Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir made it clear at the United States Overseas Pakistanis Convention that enemies of Pakistan are very wrong if they think that a few hundred terrorists can decide the fate of Pakistan.

Focusing on national pride and resilience, he stated, “Even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan or Pakistan.”

Balochistan, he said, is not just determined to be central for Pakistan’s future, but also for national pride.

General Munir commended the deep patriotism of overseas Pakistanis and termed them the ambassadors and shining doors of the country.

“You are Pakistan’s light, that shines on the globe,” he added, urging the students to pass on Pakistan’s heritage to coming generations so that the country’s foundations and vision will endure.

“If the adversary hopes to subdue us with fear and horrors, then it is an exercise in futility, for we belong to a great civilization and ideology, we have never bent before the adversity, and we will not,” said the army chief while referring to Pakistan’s rich civilization.

Kashmir and Palestine:

He praised the martyrs of the country, highlighting that Pakistan would never abandon them and calling Kashmir the “jugular vein” of the country.

General Munir also noted that Palestinians welcomed Pakistanis, underlining solidarity with Kashmiris and Palestinians.

General Munir affirmed that Pakistan’s development is bound to happen in the backdrop of challenges.

“The question isn’t whether Pakistan will progress but at what speed,” he said, as he finished his speech to a thunderous chant of “Pakistan Zindabad.”

The speech follows an announcement of a major increase in defence spending, with Pakistan set to increase its defence budget to Rs2,281 billion, as the government pledges to put national security at the top of its agenda with growing threats of terrorism.
