Government announced “Uraan Pakistan” National Economic Transformation Plan 2024-29 on Tuesday, under PM Shehbaz’s leadership.
This five-year plan anticipates to solve urgent problems with targeted reforms and revive Pakistan’s economy.
“Five Es” include Exports, E-Pakistan, Equity and Empowerment, Environment and Food Security, and Energy and Infrastructure.
In April, Prime Minister Shehbaz called for a comprehensive plan to increase the nation’s exports in five years. He said to the Ministry of Trade to sit with the stakeholders and the business owners; work had to be done together. This was the consultation with which the export plan would turn out to be successful and also inclusive.
Speaking at the event in Islamabad were Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.
PM Shehbaz commended the federal and provincial administrations for their work over the last nine months. Such initiatives have built macroeconomic stability and provided a basis for growth despite huge challenges.
Though he appreciated the progress, he added that it would be accompanied by sacrifice, perseverance, and teamwork.
On his part, unity of purpose and thinking was, according to him, necessary if Pakistan was to regain its rightful place in the world. He stressed that in order to help grow and benefit the people, the “made in Pakistan” strategy of the plan was necessary. He declared the reform plan revolutionary, one to gain a fortune for all Pakistanis and accelerate progress.
The government is firm to find solutions to the economic problems that would lead to long-term stability.
The prospects of this plan are better opportunities, fair development, and sustainable growth. For this, it focuses on infrastructure, equity, technology, exports, and the environment to change the face of its economy.
Pakistan seeks to achieve prosperity and development in the coming years through commitment and cooperation.
