Talented batsman Saud Shakeel, who was just named vice captain of the Pakistan Test squad, has landed a sponsorship deal with renowned cricket equipment maker Gray-Nicolls.
He becomes a part of an exclusive group, since Gray-Nicolls is already the sponsor of Muhammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.
The official Gray-Nicolls account wrote on social networking platform X, “Happy to have Saud Shakeel join Gray-Nicolls! In his 12 Test matches for Pakistan, Saud has amassed three hundreds at an average of 56 runs per game, with a career-high 208 not out. The new Ventus 1.3 will be used by him. Come on, let’s go!
The 29-year-old left-hand batter will be hoping that this new sponsorship brings with it some luck, especially as Pakistan is about to welcome an English touring team in the middle of a major issue.
Pakistan have battled for form of late, and Shakeel along with everyone of Pakistan will hope that a turnaround in fortunes occurs sooner rather than later.
Saud Shakeel has amassed a respectable average of 56.30 with a strike rate of 46.66 during 23 innings in 12 Test matches.
His best score of 208 not out came against Sri Lanka in July of the previous year. He has amassed three hundreds and six fifty-fives overall.
