Islamabad High Court has dismissed the petition seeking disqualification of PTI founder chairman Imran Khan in Tyrian White case. A three-member bench announced the verdict on Tuesday. The bench comprised Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, Justice Arbab Mohammad Tahir and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz.
The incarcerated former prime minister has received frequent reliefs in different cases against him in last couple of weeks. The court has granted bail in al-Qadir Corruption reference and he has also been acquitted in cases filed against him in Islamabad regarding his involvement in May 9. The court has also suspended his conviction in Toshakhana case.
Tyrian case has been pending since 2003. Earlier, Islamabad court has uploaded the verdict in favour of Khan on its website but later removed on the direction of IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq. However, the IHC three-member announced the verdict, dismissing the petition. Known lawyer and PTI leader Salman Akram Raja represented Mr Khan in the case. The PTI has welcomed the decision as the leaders are terming all the cases against Imran Khan as politically motivated.
