The most recent statistics from the international rating platform Henley & Partners shows that Pakistan’s passport is now ranked 100th in the world, up from 113th in 2021.
The improvement is thought to be a consequence of Pakistan’s changing foreign relations and expanded diplomatic outreach.
A deal that permits holders of diplomatic and official passports from both Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to travel without a visa was inked just days prior to this development.
By removing pre-travel visa requirements for qualified travelers, the bilateral agreement improves diplomatic relations between Abu Dhabi and Islamabad. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar wrote on X that he and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, his counterpart from the United Arab Emirates, had inked a deal on “mutual visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic and official passports of our two countries.”
“This important step reflects our shared resolve to further strengthen our fraternal ties and deepen institutional collaboration across all levels,” he stated.
