PTI founder and ex-premier Imran Khan has shown green light to initiate dialogue with current government alliance, reportedly giving nod after message from PM Shehbaz Sharif reached him.

As per insider info shared by The News on Thursday, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, current PTI chief, has been picked by Imran to lead communication on behalf of party. Gohar had a meeting with Imran Khan inside Adiala Jail this past Monday.

Sources say Khan emphasized that any discussion should be handled away from spotlight, media noise kept out—he feels quiet process will make outcomes more serious and less performative.

Party officials hint they plan to officially reach out to ruling side soon. Past experiences with public talks didn’t go well, according to PTI figures, because of headlines and political point-scoring. This time, they aiming for discreet and targeted dialogue.

Leaked details also reveal that Imran wants some level of military backing behind this negotiation effort. Even open to idea of connecting with someone from establishment to move things along, a source close to matter claimed.

Barrister Gohar, when contacted by The News, confirmed he passed on premier’s message to Khan. He avoided giving away much though—said he can’t share exact content of their chat, adding, “What was said between us can’t be disclosed.”

This shift came not long after PM Shehbaz publicly invited PTI to join wider political talks during a speech in Assembly. Gohar had expressed openness at the time, but party made clear—without Imran Khan’s blessing, nothing could move forward.
