The Indian military has allegedly arrested 18 Sikh soldiers for questioning the official story behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The soldiers are likely to be charged with insubordination and reluctance to engage in combat operations in a court-martial proceeding, Republic TV report said.
The action comes after a move by the Modi administration to prosecute the troops, who reportedly disobeyed orders and wrote critical posts on social media.
The Sikh troops’ posts challenged the validity of the Pahalgam incident as a “false flag operation” designed to bring Pakistan into disrepute.
Furthermore, the Sikh troops reportedly refused to take part in what they described as a politically driven operation.
In a related incident, authorities charged a junior doctor in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, after accusing him of distributing sweets to celebrate the Pahalgam incident.
The 27-year-old allegedly distributed sweets in a hospital on April 23, a day after the attack, which prompted authorities to take legal action against him.
Earlier, Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora says that the Sikh community worldwide stands against India and with Pakistan.
In a statement, Sardar Ramesh Singh said India also conducted false flag operations upon Amritsar and the Golden Temple.
India targeted children and women. The innocent children’s blood asks whom should we pursue justice, India wants to ruin the Sikh-Muslim camaraderie.
He further stated that Pakistan has not attacked any Sikh religious site in India. The country fully protects the rights of all minorities.
Additionally, Sikhs around the world firmly believe that Pakistan would never target their religious sites.
He further said that minorities living in India do not consider themselves safe. Today, Christians, Kashmiris, Sikhs, and Muslims are all worried in India. Peace is our desire, not weakness.
