India partially lifts ban on Pakistani artists and channels
TwitterFacebook

India has eased its digital limitations on select Pakistani YouTube channels and celebrity social media profiles, once again making some Pakistani entertainment content available to Indian users.

The initial clampdown followed the Pahalgam episode in Indian-administered Kashmir, after which India curtailed online visibility of numerous Pakistani platforms and barred the screening of films featuring Pakistani stars, including Fawad Khan and Hania Aamir.

Despite this, Hania Aamir’s movie managed to secure international success, though Indian cinemas remained off-limits.

Following the quiet removal of certain restrictions, Indian fans have taken to social media to celebrate.

One viewer remarked, “Diljit Dosanjh opened the doors, and now others are stepping through.” Another commented, “It’s great that we can watch again, but now Pakistani creators should step up their game.”

Although the ban led to a noticeable dip in viewership of Pakistani serials in India, some dramas like Mun Mast Malang, Sher, Dayan, and Parwarish still retained a loyal audience.

Actor Danish Taimoor’s fanbase appears especially jubilant, with social media users predicting greater success for his shows post-restrictions. “Sher will roar even more now,” a fan posted enthusiastically.

In an unexpected twist, Indian users began noticing posts from Pakistani celebrities reappearing in their feeds, suggesting that some social media bans had been lifted discreetly without formal notification.

As of now, online access has resumed for stars like Danish Taimoor, Ahad Raza Mir, Mawra Hocane, and Yumna Zaidi.

However, many high-profile accounts remain inaccessible to Indian followers.

Celebrities such as Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Wahaj Ali, Iqra Aziz, Farhan Saeed, and Hania Aamir are still blocked within India’s digital space.
