Iran has cautioned Israel against retaliating by threatening a larger-scale attack, with Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces, warning of a significant response if Israel were to retaliate.
Tehran also warned Washington against supporting Israeli military action, stating that any backing would lead to the targeting of US bases.
Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reiterated this warning, pledging retaliation for any Israeli attack on Iran’s government, people, or interests.
President Joe Biden reportedly assured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US would not support any Israeli counterattack on Iran, as per media reports citing senior administration officials.
Biden conveyed this message to Netanyahu during a phone call, emphasizing that the US would not participate in such actions.
