Iran launched another major missile strike on Israel, reportedly firing around 100 missiles on early Monday morning.
According to foreign media reports, Iran hit Israel with 100 plus missiles with explosions were heard in Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem.
Israel’s air defense system attempted to intercept many of the incoming missiles mid-air. In Haifa, Iranian missile strikes caused a fire at a power plant, according to foreign media reports.
As a result of the missile attack on the Haifa power plant, a power outage occurred in central Israel. Several areas in central Israel suffered damage, and multiple rockets landed in Tel Aviv, also causing destruction.
On Sunday night, Iran had also carried out missile attacks on multiple locations in Israel, which damaged several buildings. Four people were injured in Haifa during those strikes, according to Iranian media reports.
Iranian media has claimed a missile strike on Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force claims to have shot down several drones launched from Iran.
Earlier Iranian retaliatory missile attacks had caused devastation in cities including Tel Aviv, Haifa, Tamra, and Caesarea. Several buildings were reduced to rubble, with 14 people reportedly killed and over 300 injured.
The Iranian military has declared that they will leave no corner of Israel intact, urging Israeli settlers to immediately vacate the occupied territories.
Although Israel is quite aggressive with the Iranian strikes, it goes on with its offensive carrying out another attack on Iranian sites such as the Fordow nuclear facility which is one of the most sensitive sites in Iran.
With the situation getting out of control, international monitors fear that a larger regional conflict is in the making. United Nations and some western capitals have called on both nations to exercise restraint but there seems to be no immediate ceasefire on the cards.
