The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have claimed responsibility for the killing of Major General Ali Shadmani, Iran’s wartime Chief of Staff and its most senior military commander, in a precision airstrike on central Tehran.
According to the IDF, the operation was based on accurate intelligence and marks the second targeted killing of a high-ranking Iranian military official within five days.
The foreign media reports has also confirmed that Chief of Staff of the Iranian military has been martyred. Military Commander Ali Shadmani, who was the head of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, was martyred in Tehran.
According to Arab media, Commander Shadmani was an Iranian high ranking military commander and one of the closest associates of the Iranian Supreme Leader. He has been appointed to the job just a few days ago when Commander Gholam Ali Rashid had been martyred by an Israeli attack.
After Rashid’s killing, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that, in recognition of Major General Shadmani’s distinguished service and military expertise, he had appointed him Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya (PBUH) Central Headquarters and conferred upon him the rank of Major General.
General Shadmani, regarded as Iran’s top-ranking military officer, also served as a key military advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
While Israel has not released further operational details, the airstrike signals a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. Iranian authorities have not yet officially confirmed Shadmani’s death.
Meanwhile, the Israeli media reported that Iran has again fired at Israel injuring five people. Iran launched rockets toward the heart of Israel which resulted in major destruction.
