Islamabad weather today: Islamabad experienced a dramatic cooling of the federal capital and a welcome change in weather on Saturday as a strong thunderstorm and heavy rainstorm swept throughout the city.
In different parts of the city, hailing was also experienced.
Earlier, Pakistan Met Office said weather in Islamabad and nearby cities will stay cloudy with chances of rain and strong wind in next 24 hours.
Forecast stated that areas like Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum likely to get rainfall and wind. Same pattern expected in many districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – including Chitral, Swat, Dir, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Haripur, Buner, and tribal belt like Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, and southern parts like Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu and D.I Khan.
In Punjab, rain with wind expected in Multan, Muzaffargarh, Taunsa, Layyah, Jhang, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, D.G Khan, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar and Khanewal. Showers also likely in major cities such as Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin.
PMD also alerted people about the chances of heavy rain and hail at few spots that may cause water logging or block traffic, mostly in city areas.
On other side, Sindh will remain very hot and dry in most places, but wind with dust may blow in coastal side during afternoon.
For Balochistan, weather mostly stay dry and warm, but some parts like Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Lasbela and Khuzdar may receive light rain.
People are advised to stay safe and follow precautions, especially where heavy rain or strong wind might hit.
