Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday morning that the country had accepted the cease-fire proposal made by US President Donald Trump.
According to Netanyahu’s office statement, the prime minister accepted the truce because he had completed all of the war’s objectives in Israel.
The State of Israel achieved huge historic victories during Operation Rising Lion and positioned itself among the world’s most powerful nations, according to the statement.
The Israeli government has already agreed to a cease-fire with Iran, claiming that the goals of its military operation, Operation Rising Lion, have been met satisfactorily.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel had successfully destroyed Iran’s dual existential threats—its nuclear program and ballistic missile capability.
“Israel has removed an immediate dual threat—both in the nuclear field and in the field of ballistic missiles,” according to the statement.
According to the Israeli government, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also established complete air supremacy over Tehran, causing significant damage to Iran’s military leadership and destroying dozens of vital government sites in the Iranian capital.
Notably the ceasefire deal between Iran and Israel was brought by US President Donald Trump.
Trump declared that a ceasefire agreement had been reached between Israel and Iran, potentially marking the end of the recent 12-day conflict.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! A full and complete CEASEFIRE has been agreed upon by both Israel and Iran, to begin in approximately six hours after the completion of current operations. The ceasefire will last for 12 hours, after which the war will officially be over!”
Trump elaborated further, stating that Iran would initiate the ceasefire, and Israel would follow 12 hours later, officially concluding the hostilities after 24 hours. He added that both sides are expected to maintain mutual respect and peace during the ceasefire window.
