Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared that Israel is prepared to handle any developments involving Iran, following recent threats from Tehran in response to the killing of Iranian generals on April 1.
In response to Tehran’s retaliatory rhetoric, including warnings concerning the safety of Israeli embassies, Gallant conducted a thorough “operational situation assessment” with senior military officials.
Following the assessment, Gallant’s office released a statement emphasizing Israel’s readiness for various scenarios concerning Iran.
Gallant’s office stated, “The defense establishment has finalized preparations for potential responses in various scenarios.”
Chief of General Staff, Herzi Halevi, further highlighted Israel’s ability to address Iranian threats both offensively and defensively. During televised remarks, Halevi stated, “We are capable of responding forcefully to Iran, whether nearby or far away. We are working in coordination with the USA and strategic partners in the region.”
Tensions escalated after a suspected Israeli strike in Damascus last week, resulting in the deaths of seven Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps members, including a senior commander.
Iranian officials, including senior adviser Yahya Rahim Safavi, have proclaimed that none of Israel’s embassies are safe and emphasized Iran’s right to confront Israel.
Iran’s semi-official ISNA news agency showcased a graphic displaying nine different types of Iranian missiles allegedly capable of reaching Israel, demonstrating Iran’s military capabilities.
While Israel has not confirmed or denied its involvement in the Damascus strike, its leaders have reiterated their commitment to countering Iranian influence, particularly in supporting militant groups like Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The United States, along with Israel, is on high alert, anticipating potential attacks by Iran targeting their assets in the region.
