Israel on Friday claimed to have targeted Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah by attacking the party’s headquarters in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
According to international media reports, Israel conducted multiple airstrikes on Hezbollah’s main military headquarters located in the southern suburbs of Beirut. Israeli media claimed that the attacks aimed at Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, occurring while Hezbollah commanders were present at the main office.
However, contrary to Israel’s claims, it remains unclear whether Hassan Nasrallah was affected by the attacks or remained safe, as Hezbollah has not confirmed or denied this information.
Arab media reports indicate that the Israeli military launched an airstrike on a specific building named Al-Burj on Airport Road in Beirut, firing more than ten missiles, which resulted in severe damage to four buildings. According to Al Jazeera, two people have been reported killed in the recent attacks, and Red Crescent and rescue volunteers have arrived at the location for relief efforts.
The area of the attacks and its surroundings have suffered significant destruction, leading to concerns about a substantial increase in casualties and injuries.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military claimed that the attack also targeted Hezbollah’s central leadership, as Hezbollah’s office was located underground in the building where Hassan Nasrallah was allegedly present.
According to Al Jazeera, this is the most powerful attack in the ongoing airstrikes by Israel over the past five days, resulting in the collapse of four buildings.
On the other hand, Iranian news agencies have claimed that Hezbollah’s leader remained safe during the attack, and further information is being sought. A Hezbollah commander also confirmed to Reuters that Hassan Nasrallah was safe during the attack.
