Karachi experienced another mild earthquake on Monday morning, marking the third tremor to hit the city in less than a day.
The repeated seismic activity has raised concerns among residents and prompted calls for increased monitoring.
According to seismic experts, the latest Karachi earthquake struck at approximately 11:03 AM, with tremors felt in areas including Quaidabad, Landhi, Malir, and the Port Qasim vicinity.
The earthquake measured 3.2 on the Richter scale and originated at a depth of 10 kilometers beneath Quaidabad.
Although there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, residents in the affected zones reported feeling the ground shake for several seconds. Many people rushed outside their homes and workplaces, alarmed by the sudden tremors.
This recent quake follows similar low-magnitude Karachi earthquakes recorded over the past 24 hours. Earlier, another tremor of 3.2 magnitude was detected near Gadap Town, with a slightly deeper epicenter at 12 kilometers.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm but alert, and to follow safety instructions in the event of aftershocks. Experts continue to observe seismic patterns to evaluate any potential risk of stronger earthquakes in Karachi.
The recurrence of earthquakes in Karachi has sparked discussions about the city’s preparedness for seismic events, especially in densely populated districts.
