Intelligence Wing of the CounterTerrorism Department (CTD) apprehended Khalil ur Rehman, a senior Fitna Al-Khawarij (TTP) member.

CTD apprehended him, while working near the Taj Complex in Karachi

Weapons were also seized from the suspect during the mission, CTD incharge Raja Umar Khattab notes.

Members of the CTD said the detained person had been trained in Afghanistan by the Noor Wali Ullah group.

The suspect reportedly filmed and sent videos of several Karachi sites including Mazar-e-Quaid last December to Afghanistan.

He also shared these videos on social media with a menacing message hinting at the existence of his group in Karachi.

The CTD’s later discoveries showed the suspect had made a piece of paper stating “Karachi Coming Soon” and circulated it.

Furthermore, he has been said to be engaged in wall drawing campaigns favoring the forbidden group Fitna AlKhawarij (TTP) in the Defense sector of Karachi.

Raja Umar Khattab said tracking and apprehending the suspect hinged on technical proofs, video footage, and intelligence reports.

Investigations are ongoing and there is a probability of arresting more suspects connected to the suspect, CTD found.

Since, a week Pakistan has seen a rise in the terror events, creating a turmoil among the masses.
