Karachi Weather Today : Karachi residents woke up to cooler temperatures and refreshing showers on Saturday morning, offering a welcome break from the prolonged heatwave that had gripped the city for weeks.
Light to moderate rainfall was recorded in several neighborhoods, including Malir, Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, and adjacent areas. This shift in weather brought temporary relief from the persistent humidity and high temperatures.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), sporadic rain showers accompanied by thunder are expected to continue later in the day, especially after noon. The day’s high temperature is projected to touch 31°C, with humidity levels hovering around 90 percent.
Northeasterly winds are currently blowing across the city at a steady pace of 10 kilometers per hour, the Met Office added.
This rainfall marks the first active monsoon spell for Karachi this season, which began on Friday, easing the discomfort caused by recent scorching conditions.
In addition to Karachi, the Met Department has also issued rain forecasts for multiple districts across Sindh. Areas such as Hyderabad, Dadu, Badin, Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, and Shaheed Benazirabad are likely to experience thundershowers in the coming days.
This shift in weather is linked to a prevailing westerly system, which is expected to bring thunderstorms, gusty winds, and rainfall to much of Sindh’s western and central regions until June 29.
