Partly cloudy skies are forecast in Karachi in the next three days with drizzle during morning and late evening hours, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said.
Low-level clouds moving from the sea have resulted in a partly cloudy atmosphere over the city and a temperature decline.
Many areas—including Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Sohrab Goth, Scheme 33, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, University Road, Stadium Road, and PECHS—have already experienced drizzle.
Sea breeze has also started again, with wind speeds ranging between 20 to 30 km/h. Garden, Nazimabad, Karimabad, and Sohrab Goth also experienced drizzle last night.
The Met Office stated that maximum daytime temperatures in Karachi would be between 33°C and 35°C during the next few days.
At the same time, light rain is expected in Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, and Tando Allahyar.
The majority of other districts of Sindh will maintain hot to very hot and arid weather conditions.
In the meantime, as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), an incoming weather system has reached the country, and up to June 23, the provincial capital Lahore and other regions of Punjab are likely to have dust storms, strong wind, and rain.
The weather system is likely to provide relief as it will lower the intensity of the heat.
Lahore is expected to see a minimum temperature of 31°C and a maximum of 38°C today. Dusty winds are likely, but the chances of rain remain low.
Pre-Monsoon rain
Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesman has confirmed that pre-monsoon rains will start from today evening until June 23.
The PDMA has called upon the public to exercise precaution during inclement weather, such as remaining indoors when it’s stormy outside and refraining from unwarranted journeys.
The citizens should also take cover while lightning storms are on. In case of emergency, individuals are advised to call the PDMA helpline at 1129.
