Deadly blast has hit school bus near Zero Point on the Karachi-Quetta National Highway in Khuzdar on Wednesday in Khuzdar, claiming five lives, including three schoolkids.
Local authorities said the explosion happened when a school bus carrying kids went past an explosives-rigged car that was parked on the side of the road.
The event happened near the crowded location of Zero Point, a significant intersection on the national highway.
On the side of the road, the explosive material was placed inside a car.
A senior police official stated, “It was remotely detonated as the school bus approached, and an investigation is underway to determine the nature of the device and the perpetrators involved.”
Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, meantime, acknowledged that the explosion killed five children and injured more than forty others.
According to him, the wounded have been moved to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for medical care.
The Deputy Commissioner went on to say that the explosion was a suicide attack and that inquiries are being conducted to find the perpetrators.
The Pakistan Army revealed that India orchestrated the deadly attack on a school bus in Khuzdar through its proxy terrorist networks, saying the incident was a continuation of India’s “state-sponsored terrorism” aimed at destabilising the country.
In a strongly worded statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), it was confirmed that five people — including three children — were martyred.
While several others got injured in the targeted attack near Zero Point along the Karachi-Quetta National Highway.
