Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur declared on Saturday that any individual disturbing the peace would be dealt with as harshly as terrorists.
Speaking at a Grand Jirga convened in Kohat in response to the Kurram incident, CM Gandapur ordered the impartial removal of all unauthorized posts in the area. He also revealed that the provincial government had requested military assistance to restore calm.
“The army, police, and local administration are working in unison to bring lasting stability to the region,” stated Gandapur.
He called on the federal government to deploy Frontier Constabulary (FC) units to bolster the peace efforts.
Highlighting the importance of local leadership, Gandapur urged community elders to actively reduce tensions between factions. “Elders must take the lead in eradicating animosity and fostering harmony,” he said.
He also underlined the government’s commitment to displaced families, promising that funds would be prioritized for their safe and respectful return.
“The provincial government is dedicated to ensuring the rehabilitation of those displaced by violence,” he affirmed.
The Jirga collectively resolved to remain active in its mission to achieve lasting peace, with the provincial government’s full support.
