12 killed and 18 injured in a fresh fighting in Kurram district, pushing the death toll to rise mid the ongoing clashes
Local police reported that an exchange of gunfire occurred in upper and lower Kurram leaving 12 dead while 18 injured. This gunfire erupted between Jalmay, Chadrewal villages, and Talo Kunj, official report says.
Officials are constantly negotiating with the opposing tribes to sort out the matter peacefully. However, their efforts have yet to yield any remarkable result.
In Upper Kurram, Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsood and other officials raised white flags but their efforts hindered by continued gunfire.
Similarly in Lower Kurram Assistant Commissioner Hafeezur Rehman and local leaders stepped forward for mediation but failed to stop violence in the areas.
Amid the worsening situation in these regions the District Health Officer for Kurram, Dr. Qaisar Abbas warned that local health facilities are running out of medicines due to blocked roads.
Separately, National Assembly Member Hameed Hussain also warned the federation that if this conflict is not ended it would encircled other areas of the country.
