A classic Indian television series, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, known for its portrayal of domestic power struggles is making a return, bringing back a wave of nostalgia for long-time soap opera enthusiasts.
Television producer Ekta Kapoor has confirmed the return of the beloved household saga Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi with a brand-new season. The series, which captivated audiences for years with its mother-in-law versus daughter-in-law dynamics, is being revived as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.
As per Indian entertainment outlets, veteran actress and current political figure Smriti Irani has reportedly finalized her participation in the upcoming season, rekindling excitement among fans who followed her character’s journey in the original version.
Joining her in the revival are familiar faces from the original cast, including Amar Upadhyay, Shakti Anand, and Kamalika Guha Thakurta. According to insiders, the much-anticipated show will return to its original broadcaster, Star Plus, with the first episode expected to air on July 3.
There had been whispers about the show potentially shifting to a digital platform, especially after Balaji Telefilms’ collaboration with Netflix India. However, those speculations remain unconfirmed for now.
