Following an extended spell of scorching temperatures, Lahore witnessed a mild change in weather conditions on Sunday. Gentle gusts swept through the city, offering temporary comfort as temperatures saw a minor drop.
As per the latest update from the weather office, Lahore and its adjoining regions could receive traces of rainfall today. The partial cloud cover has contributed to easing the intensity of the heatwave, and the airflow has slightly lowered moisture levels in the atmosphere.
Temperature readings for the day indicate a low of 32°C and a possible high near 40°C. Humidity stands at approximately 25%, and the breeze is moving at a modest pace of 3 km/h.
Earlier, on Sunday, Pakistan continued to reel under hot and dry conditions, though mild relief may arrive in the form of light showers and cloud cover later in the day, according to fresh updates from the national weather service.
While the plains remain particularly sweltering, slight changes in atmospheric patterns suggest that some regions could experience gusty winds, sporadic rain, and even hailstorms by evening.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, areas including northeast and southern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, southeast and upper Sindh, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may witness patchy cloud formation and intermittent rain coupled with thunderstorms. Windstorms and hail are also expected in isolated spots.
In the capital and nearby zones, the day is forecast to be hot and partially overcast, but brief spells of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder are anticipated later tonight.
Across Punjab, the heat will persist, but localized rainfall is expected in several districts including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Dera Ghazi Khan, among others. Stormy winds and occasional hail could also affect these areas.
Northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa — including locations such as Swat, Dir, Kohat, Waziristan, and Abbottabad — may experience brief rainfall episodes and blustery weather conditions today.
