The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by strong winds in Lahore and several other areas of Punjab starting Monday night and continuing into Tuesday.

As per the Met Office, moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are currently moving towards the upper and central regions of the country. Additionally, a westerly weather system is affecting the northern parts of Pakistan.

Given these atmospheric conditions, areas such as Murree, Galiyat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar are likely to receive rainfall with gusty winds on Monday night.

For Tuesday, most districts across Punjab are expected to remain hot and extremely humid. However, scattered rain and winds may occur in locations including Murree, Galiyat, the Potohar plateau, Gujarat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Kasur.

Lahore’s daytime temperature is projected to hover between 36°C and 38°C on both Tuesday and Wednesday, dropping slightly to a range of 35°C to 37°C by Thursday.

During the past 24 hours, hot and sticky conditions dominated most areas of Punjab. However, parts of upper Punjab and Islamabad experienced pre-monsoon showers.

Recorded rainfall (in millimeters) included: Noorpur Thal 29mm, Islamabad (Saidpur 27mm, Zero Point 9mm, Golra 7mm, Bokra 1mm), Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 14mm, Kacheri and Chaklala 1mm each), Sargodha City 5mm, and Jhang 4mm.

Bahawalpur emerged as the hottest spot in the province with temperatures reaching 43°C. Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan followed closely at 42°C, while Chakwal and Attock recorded highs of 41°C.

In Lahore, the mercury climbed to 38°C, with evening humidity levels recorded at 59 percent.
