Lahore Weather Today: Heavy monsoon rains and strong winds with some isolated heavy downpours are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Pakistan from Friday night through Sunday, with occasional breaks.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports that moist air currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are moving into the upper and central regions of Pakistan, intensifying from tomorrow onward.

Due to these conditions, widespread monsoon rainfall and gusty winds, including some heavy showers, are forecasted for the twin cities, Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, southeastern Sindh, and northeastern and southern Balochistan between Friday night and Sunday, with intermittent pauses.

From July 6 to July 8, heavy to very heavy rains may cause flash floods in local streams and nullahs in areas such as Murree, Galiyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Balochistan. Urban flooding is also possible in low-lying parts of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar.

The maximum temperature in Islamabad is expected to range from 34°C to 36°C on Saturday and Sunday, and between 33°C and 35°C on Monday.

Meanwhile, isolated rains were recorded over the past 24 hours in Kashmir, northeastern Balochistan, upper Punjab, and eastern Sindh. Hot and humid conditions prevailed in other parts of the country.

Rainfall measurements (in mm):

  • Kashmir: Kotli 25, Muzaffarabad (City 7, Airport 4)

  • Balochistan: Bar Khan 17, Samungli 1

  • Punjab: Toba Tek Singh 11, Sheikhupura 9, Gujrat 6, Chakwal 4, Lahore City 1

  • Sindh: Sukkur, Khairpur 1

Nokkundi was the hottest place in Pakistan, with a maximum temperature of 47°C. Bunji and Chilas recorded 46°C, while Dalbandin, Sibbi, and Jacobabad reached 45°C.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature was 37°C, with evening relative humidity at 57%.
