Three men were kidnapped and murdered by unidentified militants on charges of spying in the Tirah Valley region of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
The three men, Ibrahim son of Masoor, Samad son of Piyo Khan, and Naveed son of Sher Ghulam, belonged to the Malik Din Khel tribe. Reports say that armed men kidnapped the three men on Thursday.
People found the bodies of the three men early Friday morning in an open field, showing execution-style gunshot injuries.
Locals discovered the bodies and moved them back to the victims’ residences.
After the massacre, fear gripped the region as people demanded that the government and security agents move in immediately and bring peace back into the region.
Earlier, Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in Tirah Valley killed 22 militants and injured 18 others in the last month, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.
Furthermore, security forces conducted the operations following a series of terror activities against civilians and security personnel in the region.
The ISPR emphasized that they will continue these operations to restore peace and neutralize militant threats within the area.
“In a bid to counter these atrocities, security forces are conducting massive Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in the area against the Khawrij,” the statement said.
Additionally, the counter-terrorism operations, termed as massive and intelligence-based, highlight the army’s resolve to stabilise the affected regions.
